Improvisational theater, or improv, is a form of live theatre in which the characters, stories, and dialogue are made up in the moment. Improv is a great skill for all children, because it develops bravery in the fearful, focus and confidence in the anxious, and inspires confident humility in the bold! Our classes are tailored to each age group to work with their natural levels of social and cognitive development, and to challenge them to learn new social skills that will benefit them for their entire lives!

Intro to Improv is a chance for your little artist to move, to yell, and to laugh freely! Children at this age live vibrant inward lives! In this 30-minute class that meets once a week we encourage them to find new ways to externalize their dreams, thoughts, and feelings, and also challenge them to bring others into their creative world. [Lessons include self-awareness (body and mind), others awareness (reading facial/body language, listening), teamwork, and the basic rules of improv]
Thursdays 9:00-9:30am – $100/session (TBD)
Improv 1 (ages 7-11)… In this 60-minute class, actors begin to create in collaboration with one another, and dive deeper into expressing thought, feeling, and intent in a way that draws their scene partners (and the audience) into the world they are creating. [Lessons include adaptability, the rules of improv, teamwork, trust, and learning from mistakes]
Fridays 4:00-5:00pm – $120/session (TBD)
Improv 2 (ages 12-17)…Improv is an essential skill for any well-rounded actor, and artist. In this 60-minute class, students are challenged to drop the natural self-protective barriers of their age and find a way to embrace their creativity with boldness. [Lessons include adaptability, consistency, character development, inclusion/teamwork, trust (self and others), and how to relate to their audience]
Fridays 5:15-6:15pm – $120/session (TBD)
